Guelph Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a grocery store thief. Officers were called to a store on Silvercreek Parkway North around 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday. Employees said a man walked out with a shopping cart full of groceries. When they tried to stop him, the man allegedly hit an employee with the cart and threatened to stab staff members. Police said no weapons were seen and no one was hurt. The man was described as white, in his 30s, 5’10” tall and thin brown hair. He was wearing jeans and a grey hoodie. Police said a woman was with the man. She was described as white, with waist-length red hair and wore a red sweater and black pants. Anyone with information is asked to call Const.
