The Guelph Police Service arrested a man who allegedly hit another person with a wooden object. Investigators said the attack happened around 7 a.m. Thursday near Waterloo Avenue and Gordon Street. The victim said they asked the man about a long wooden object he was carrying. The suspect became upset, then tried to strike the victim with the object several times. The victim had only minor injuries. Officers quickly identified the suspect and arrested him a few hours later. During a search of the man, police found what they believe was the wooden object. The 32-year-old Guelph man was charged with assault with a weapon.
