A tip has led to the arrest of a driver at the Guelph courthouse. Guelph Police Service officers were called to the Ontario Court of Justice on Wyndham Street South just before 3 p.m. on Friday. A witness said they watched a driver enter a parking lot and then drive over the grass and a curb to get back onto the road. The driver reportedly went into a different parking lot and stopped. When officers arrived, the woman behind the wheel refused to open her door or listen to police. An officer broke the window to take her out of the car. During a search, police said they found a bag of suspected methamphetamine within her reach. She was arrested and taken back to the police station for testing, where a drug recognition officer determined she was impaired. A 42-year-old Guelph woman was charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, obstructing police and possessing a controlled substance.
