People across Canada will pause at 11 a.m. to reflect and remember those who fought and died for our country. CTV Kitchener will have a livestream of the Remembrance Day Ceremony at the cenotaph on Duke Street in downtown Kitchener. You can watch the livestream in the viewer above. The service is scheduled to start at 10:45 a.m. Here’s a list of local Remembrance Day ceremonies and other events around our region. Brantford An overnight lighting display will begin Monday at the Brant War Memorial at 6 Dalhousie Street. Cadets will stand vigil from 6 p.m. to midnight on Nov. 10, and then again from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 11. The city recently added 23 names to the Brant War Memorial; 22 of them served in the Second World War and one in the First World War. These additions will be unveiled at this year’s ceremony. Cambridge A Remembrance Day gathering will be held Nov. 9 at the Bai’tul Kareem Mosque at 5 Elliott Street. The event will include live music and the laying of poppies by both faith leaders and community leaders. It begins at 12 p.m. The Remembrance Day Ceremony for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 126 (Preston) starts at 10:45 a.m. at the cenotaph on King Street. The ceremony for the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 272 (Hespeler) will be held at the Queen Street East and Tannery Street cenotaph at 10:30 a.m. A ceremony will also take place at the Queen’s Square cenotaph (in Galt) at 10 a.m. Fergus The parade procession will leave the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 275 at 10:30 a.m. and head towards the Fergus cenotaph for the commemorative ceremony. Guelph A Remembrance Day Ceremony will be held at the Sleeman Centre. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the service starts at 10:15 a.m. A parade will follow, starting at the Sleeman Centre and continuing to the cenotaph. The University of Guelph said students, faculty and staff will gather at Branion Plaza at 10 a.m. and make their way to War Memorial Hall. Wreaths will be laid on the steps, followed by a full Remembrance Day service. Kitchener A reading of the fallen will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion Fred Gies Branch 50 at 10 a.m. A parade will then make its way from Ontario Street to the Duke Street cenotaph. The service officially starts at 10:45 a.m. Paris A Remembrance Day ceremony is being held at the Paris Cenotaph on Grand River Street North. People are invited to gather at 10:30 a.m. and the ceremony is set to start at 11 a.m. Rockwood A parade will make its way from the Rockwood Post Office to the cenotaph at the corner of Main Street South (Highway 7). It begins at 10:30 a.m. Following the service, refreshments will be served at St. John’s Anglican Church. Stratford A Remembrance Day Ceremony will begin at the city’s cenotaph, near Coburg Street, at 10:30 a.m. Wellington County More than 500 memorial markers have been placed on the front lawn of the Wellington County Museum and Archives. Each has the name of a person who fought and died in the First World War, Second World War, Korean War or Afghanistan. A remembrance candle will be placed in front of each one on Nov. 10, beginning at 5:30 p.m. They will remain lit until Nov. 12. Waterloo The day will begin with a parade, starting at 10:25 a.m. at Bridgeport and Regina. It ends at the cenotaph (next to Waterloo City Hall). The service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Following the ceremony, the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530 (at 316 Marsland Drive) will open up to the public for food and live music. Woodstock The city’s Remembrance Day Ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m. in Victoria Park (413 Buller Street).
