A pair from Etobicoke are facing drug trafficking charges as part of a Six Nations Police investigation. In a news release published on Wednesday, police said they searched a home and a vehicle in Etobicoke on Dec. 15, leading to the seizure of cash, fentanyl, drug packaging and a cell phone. A 26-year-old man from Etobicoke was arrested at the time and charged with possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. On Jan. 23, the police wrapped up an investigation called “Project Hop Out” by searching the same home in Etobicoke, as well as a vehicle. During that search police found approximately 36.5 grams of cocaine, $5,940 in cash, cell phones, a digital scale and a gold chain. The same 26-year-old man was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, proceeds of crime over $5,000 and failure to comply with undertaking conditions. A 25-year-old woman from Etobicoke was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000. Police said the investigation was launched due to drugs being brought onto Six Nations land and then trafficked to community members.
