Two Guelph men are facing charges after police say a passenger was seen riding on the roof of a moving car downtown. Guelph Police said a traffic officer was patrolling Macdonell Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday when they saw a car approaching with a man sitting on the roof and waving his arms toward crowds of pedestrians. Police said the officer activated the cruiser’s emergency lights, prompting the passenger to climb down through the sunroof. The 27-year-old driver was charged with stunt driving and failing to provide a driver’s licence. His licence was suspended for 30 days and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days. The 22-year-old passenger also faces two charges under the Highway Traffic Act. Further details about the passenger’s charges were not provided.
