Six people are facing charges and police have seized drugs following an enforcement initiative in downtown Kitchener. Waterloo Regional Police said the crackdown took place on Thursday and Friday near the intersection of King Street East and Cedar Street. The initiative was in response to ongoing complaints about open drug use and criminal activity in the area. Four adults and two youths were arrested as a result. They are facing drug-related charges and two of them were arrested on outstanding warrants. Officers seized suspected fentanyl and various prescription medications. Members of the public are reminded to report suspicious or illegal activity to police.
