Police looking for driver who hit pedestrian in wheelchair

The Brantford Police Service is trying to identify a driver involved in a hit-and-run.

Investigators said it happened at the corner of Stanley Street and Chatham Street around 1 p.m. on Monday.

“The driver struck a pedestrian in a mobility assist wheelchair and left the scene. The extent of injuries in unknown at this time,” a police release said.

The driver was last seen heading southbound on Stanley Street. The vehicle was described as a “dark coloured sedan” which may have scratches along the left-front driver’s side fender.
