Waterloo Regional Police are investigating an overnight break-and-enter at a residence in Waterloo. Police said officers responded to a report of a break-and-enter in progress on Chesapeake Crescent at about 3 a.m. Monday. Investigators said the suspects gained entry to the home by smashing the glass in the front door. A resident was inside the home at the time of the incident. Police said no physical injuries were reported. The suspects fled the area and were last seen travelling northbound on Chesapeake Crescent, police said. As part of the investigation, police are asking residents and motorists in the area to review any available video footage recorded between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Monday. That includes dashcam footage, residential security-camera video and other recordings that may have captured suspicious people, vehicles or activity. Anyone with relevant footage or information is asked to contact Waterloo Regional Police. The investigation remains ongoing.
