Waterloo Regional Police have laid multiple charges against a 39-year-old Kitchener man following a weapons-related incident in Kitchener. Police said two people were in the area of Highland Road East at around 11 p.m. Friday when they were confronted by an unknown man. According to police, the man approached the victims while producing what appeared to be a firearm and pointing it at them. Police allege the weapon was discharged multiple times, causing injuries. A physical altercation then took place, resulting in further injuries. Police said all of the injuries were non-life-threatening. Officers responded immediately and arrested the suspect at the scene. Police later determined that the firearm involved was a pellet gun. The accused faces the following charges: Police said they believe the incident was targeted and isolated.
