Healing of the Seven Generations needs help for hamper program

A local Indigenous organization needs help to make the holidays bright for everyone.

In a letter, Donna Dubie, the executive director of Healing of the Seven Generations, said they have only received 70 turkeys to hand out to community members through their Christmas hamper program.

Dubie said, so far, close to 100 families have registered for the program.

“The most hardest part for me is right now I’m not even sure we will have enough toys for the children that are register,” she wrote.

Healing of the Seven Generations is a non-profit organization that offers support and services to Indigenous people, including First Nations, Inuit and Metis community members.

Dubie’s letter noted they are always accepting donations.

The office is located at 300 Frederick Street in Kitchener and is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.
