Police in Waterloo Region have accused a Northern Ontario man of making child sexual abuse and exploitation material. In July, the parent of a 13-year-old girl from Cambridge went to the Waterloo Regional Police Service after they discovered the girl had been receiving sexually explicit text messages from a man. The investigation led police to a 36-year-old from Greater Sudbury. In August, the Waterloo Regional Police Service teamed up with the Greater Sudbury Police Service, leading to the search of a Copper Cliff home on Thursday. Several devices were seized during that search. Leslie Kiddle has been charged with luring a child with a telecommunication device, making sexually explicit material available to a child and making child sexual abuse and exploitation material. Police said Kiddle sometimes used the online handle “Ace Kiddle.” Investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with more information is urged to reach out to police. Charges regarding child sexual abuse and exploitation material were formerly referred to by the term “child pornography.”
