Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a reported abduction in St. Jacobs. On Thursday, around 9:10 p.m., a man entered a home in the King Street North and Sawmill Road area. Police said he abducted a female youth, but she was able to escape and call 911. The girl had only minor injuries. The suspect was described as a brown male, tall and approximately 20 to 30 years old, with a black buzz cut and black shaved beard. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and light grey knee-length shorts. Police believe it was a targeted incident. “Initial information has led investigators to believe that this incident is related to an ongoing investigation from May 2025 involving individuals who were known to each other,” Const. Brad Hickey told CTV News. Police would not go into detail about what happened in May.
