A fire destroyed trailer at Puslinch Lake on Oct. 31 but officials have not said what may have sparked the flames. Crews from both Puslinch and Cambridge were called to McClintock’s Trailer Resort, on McClintock Drive, around 7:30 p.m. Ontario Provincial Police said a neighbouring trailer was also damaged. “Fortunately, neither trailer was occupied at the time, and no injuries were reported,” they wrote in a media release. The fire is not considered suspicious, OPP noted. Because the resort is only open from May 1 to Oct. 31, the trailers were about – or already – closed for the season. The property lies beside a beloved local landmark. The Old Marina Restaurant opened in the 1920s as a dance hall and, by the 1950s, it became a water ski school. In 1993, it was transformed into a casual dining restaurant overlooking Puslinch Lake. The building was destroyed in a fire in 2005, rebuilt and reopened two years later, then burned down again in July 2022.
