Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal head-on crash north of Delhi. They said a car and transport truck collided on Brantford Road just before 7 a.m. on Tuesday. “I’m sad to say that the driver of that passenger vehicle suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene,” Const. Ed Sanchuk said in a video posted to social media. The driver of the transport truck was not hurt. Police said Brantford Road, between Windham Centre Road and Windham Road 7, was expected to remain closed for six to eight hours while they investigated the circumstances leading up to the crash. Witnesses are asked to contact OPP. They also speak to one person in particular. “[A] driver ran into a road closed sign causing significant damage not only to the sign, but to their vehicle,” said Const. Sanchuk. “You’re being encouraged to contact the Norfolk County OPP to make a collision report.” He added: “It’s best that you come and talk to us before we have to come and knock at your door.”
