Driver facing impaired charges after calling police to alleged hit-and-run

A driver from Grand Bend has been charged after Brant County Ontario Provincial Police were called to a hit-and-run on Highway 403 near the Paris Road off-ramp.

Officers said it happened around 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 15. They were told the driver of a white Honda Civic hit another vehicle and then took off.

While speaking with the complainant, officers said they noticed signs of potential impairment. The driver was asked to take a roadside breath test, which they failed.

The driver, a 41-year-old man from Grand Bend, was charged with impaired operation and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
