Cambridge man plans to buy a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey with part of $250,000 lotto win

A lift truck operator from Cambridge, Ont. is certainly in high spirits after winning $250,000.

Ernani Trivelli won the top prize with OLG’s Instant Diamond Dollars.

“I usually play Cash for Life, but this day I decided to splurge a bit and purchase a few different instant tickets,” Trivelli said while picking up his prize in Toronto. “It was well worth it!”

The 64-year-old said he was checking his tickets at home when he discovered the windfall.

“My wife and I hugged each other and then I called my kids. They couldn’t believe it!”

The first thing he’s planning to buy is a Toronto Maple Leafs Jersey.

“I definitely want to go to a game with my family once the season starts. I’m so excited,” he said.

After that, he’ll be taking care of some bills and is considering going on a vacation.

The winning ticket was bought at Hasty Market on Myers Road in Cambridge.
