The Brantford Bulldogs picked up their first regular-season win of the season Friday with a 3-1 victory over the Niagara IceDogs. Xavier Lieb opened the scoring for Brantford about two minutes into the first period, scoring his first official goal as a Bulldog. Brayden Lappalainen and George Komadoski assisted on the goal. Niagara tied the game later in the opening period when Noah Read scored, with Layne Gallacher and Wil McFadden picking up assists. The teams remained tied 1-1 through the second period. Brantford faced three Niagara power plays in the second period but kept the IceDogs from scoring. Goaltender Vilmer Salen Forsberg made seven saves in the second period and stopped 19 shots overall. Lieb restored Brantford’s lead in the third period with his second goal of the game. Joey Banas and Komadoski assisted. Jason Musa added an insurance goal with 2:44 remaining in the game, with Kaden McGregor and Camden McCuaig earning assists.
