A mandatory boil water advisory issued for parts of the town of Erin has been lifted, officials said Sunday evening. In an update posted at 5:23 p.m., the town said boiling water is no longer required and thanked affected residents for their patience. The advisory had been in place since Thursday as crews worked to repair a watermain break. According to the Town of Erin’s website, the affected area included all properties south of Church Boulevard. In a social media post, the town said the advisory was implemented after a “low-pressure event in the water system that occurred during the repair of a watermain break.” ‘Minor inconvenience’ Since the advisory came into effect, impacted residents have been sharing their concerns and experiences on social media. In an interview with CTV News, resident Julie Piccolo described the situation as a “minor inconvenience.” “I got a pot of big water, I’ve got the drinking travel mugs full of boiled water, and I keep the kettle on the stove full of boiled water,” Piccolo said. “As long as you have boiled water or you boil it on the stove, you should be fine,” she added. Piccolo said she finds comfort in knowing her household isn’t alone. “I’m just glad that we have a community that looks out for everybody,” she said.
