Domino’s Pizza has teamed up with Samsung to launch a tracking device that will allow viewers to follow their pizza delivery via a ticker at the bottom of their Samsung Smart TV, while taking in the Super Bowl action this weekend.

Currently available on mobile and online, the Domino’s Pizza Tracker allows customers to track their pizza from the moment they place their order to the time it goes in the oven and finally when it’s sent out for delivery.

For the first time, in advance of the big game on Sunday between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, the chain will be launching the same service for owners of the Samsung Smart TV, the first time the tracker has been made available on a TV platform.

On game day, the busiest delivery day of the year for the chain, Domino’s expects to deliver more than 11 million pizza slices and more than 3 million chicken wings nationwide -- an 80 percent increase from a typical Sunday.

Domino’s says that last year they delivered enough pizzas to stretch across more than 2,400 football fields.

Pizza Hut, likewise, will be trying to nab a big part of the market by airing two commercials starring football star Tony Romo and NFL coach Rex Ryan during the pre-game show.

For their part, Pizza Hut estimates they’ll sell two million pies on game day.
