The World’s Largest Sausage located in Mundare, Alta., is turning 25 years old. Stawnichy’s is throwing a party on Saturday to celebrate the 12-metre-tall statue’s milestone. There will be a parade at 10:30 a.m. and a barbecue at Stawnichy’s at 11:30 a.m. as part of the Mundare Agri-Days. “Over the last 25 years, the World’s Largest Sausage has become part of so many memories,” Stawnichy’s, who’s been making their famous sausage since 1959, said on Instagram. “Families have stopped for road-trip photos, kids have grown up and returned with families of their own, couples have taken wedding photos beneath it - and yes, some people have even tattooed the sausage.” All proceeds will go to the Edward E. Stawnichy Charitable Foundation to support local initiatives. Mundare is located about an hour east of Edmonton.
