Flight crews have been practising aerial drops during recent wildfire training at the Red Deer Regional Airport. Air Spray, the Alberta-based company behind the training, operates a fleet of more than 50 aircraft to help manage the spread of wildfire. The training also includes practise with ground crews at the airport. A temporary noise advisory is in place during the training session. Heavier-than-normal aerial traffic is also expected. The spring wildfire training will be conducted for a few weeks.
