Rogers Place is welcoming skates of a different kind for a disco night in August. OEG Sports and Entertainment is partnering with local roller skating rink Rollers to turn the Edmonton Oilers’ ice into a roller disco on Aug. 16. A family skate will be held from 3 to 5 p.m., then an adult skate from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with drinks and a live DJ. Tickets for people aged 13 and older are on sale for $35 and for kids 12 and under for $25. Those who don’t want to skate can attend for $7. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own rollerblades or roller skates, but Rollers will be renting equipment for $15. Participants are also encouraged to wear their grooviest fashions.
