Water leak closes east Edmonton urgent care centre

The urgent care centre and family clinic at the East Edmonton Health Centre will be closed until the end of April because of a water leak.

An urgent care centre in east Edmonton is closed after a water leak last week.

The urgent care unit at the East Edmonton Health Centre will be closed until the end of April as crews work to repair and clean it following a water leak.

“After assessing the remediation and cleaning work required, the space has been deemed not ready for patients,” Alberta Health Services wrote in a release.

The clinic, located at 7910 112 Ave., will transition to virtual appointments or reschedule patients as needed.

“Alberta Health Services (AHS) recognizes extended closures can be stressful for patients seeking care. AHS continues to work diligently to complete the necessary cleanup as quickly as possible.”
