Sunshine and some heat. An upper ridge will push across the province today and Saturday, minimizing the cloudcover and helping to pump up the temperatures. Edmonton should hit 27 C or 28 C for a high this afternoon and we’ll get to 29 C or 30 C on Saturday. There’ll be a bit of cloud moving through central and north-central Alberta midday and early afternoon Saturday. So, the timing and thickness of that cloud will play a role in determining whether or not we hit 30 C or stay in the upper 20s. The ridge moves off to the east Sunday and we’ll get back to a chance of some showers/thunderstorms in the Edmonton region late Sunday afternoon and/or Sunday night. Temperatures ahead of that precipitation should get into the mid 20s early to mid afternoon Sunday. THEN...a light cooldown for Monday with a chance of showers early in the day. It looks like we’ll be in the low 20s Monday. Sunshine returns for Tuesday/Wednesday and afternoon highs jump back into the mid to upper 20s.
