Thief used hatchet to steal backpack from man at LRT station: Edmonton police

Police are looking for a man who was robbed by a person with a hatchet last month.

It happened on March 25 at 10:15 a.m. at the MacEwan LRT station.

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) says it has identified the suspect, who was captured on surveillance video using a hatchet to cut the victim’s backpack strap, forcibly remove it, and escape onto an LRT.

The victim has not come forward to police and investigators would like to speak with him to make sure he was not injured in the robbery.
