Shooting in Red Deer injures 1, suspect in custody

Mounties say they have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting that took place at a hotel in Red Deer Wednesday.

Officers responded to a report of gunshots in north Red Deer around 9 p.m. and located a man with a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A male suspect was then located and arrested. He remains in custody.

Police believe the shooting to be targeted and remain on the scene while the investigation continues.
