2 of 4 connected with armed home invasion in Edson arrested

A search for a group of people who broke into a home was what prompted a shelter order from police in Edson on Sunday.

The home invasion happened at an undisclosed location sometime before 9:20 a.m., when it was reported to police.

Four people broke into the home, armed with a sawed-off shotgun, and demanded money. They also shot one round through a closet door before leaving, police were told.

While searching for the suspects, police issued a shelter order for Sunset Mobile Trailer Park.

Investigators later found and arrested two of the four people, one of whom was the shooter.

Both men, aged 37 and 44, live in Edson and face multiple charges including break and enter.

They knew the victims, according to RCMP.

Police are still working to identify the two other suspects.
