The Edmonton Oilers are set to start training camp Wednesday ahead of the club’s preseason. This year’s camp features 55 players – six goaltenders, 16 defencemen and 33 forwards. Wednesday will see medical and fitness testing at Rogers Place with on-ice sessions taking place on the main ice and at the Downtown Community Arena Thursday. The Oilers’ eight-game preseason begins on Sunday with split-squad games against the Calgary Flames before home and away games versus the Winnipeg Jets, the Seattle Kraken and the Vancouver Canucks through Oct. 3. The team will kick off its 2025-26 regular season with two home games: a battle of Alberta on Oct. 8, followed by a Saturday night game with the Canucks on Oct. 11.
