Drivers report watery gas

Multiple drivers who filled up their vehicles at a south Edmonton Circle K this week say the gas they bought was 50 per cent water. The resulting mechanical issues could cost them thousands of dollars. Couche-Tard, which owns Circle K, says it is taking the matter seriously.

Potential separation referendum paused

Until a decision is made in a court challenge by the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation and the Blackfoot Confederacy of a potential referendum on Alberta separation, the process has been paused. Stay Free Alberta, the separatist group behind the petition, can still collect signatures, but the petition can’t be verified.

Ex-Edmonton Oilers general manager Kevin Lowe took offence at Hockey Hall of Fame defenceman Chris Pronger describing his trade to Edmonton as a drunken decision in his new book.

Man pleads guilty in teen’s death

Keith Landry, charged with second-degree murder in the death of 15-year-old Broden Radomske in 2024, pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter in an Edmonton court this week. Radomske was walking with his mother, younger brother, and two friends in a green space when he was attacked by Landry, according to court documents.

Sask. resident killed in Red Deer crash

A 47-year-old Saskatchewan resident was killed in a crash in Red Deer on Sunday. Police believe the Saskatchewan driver crossed the centre meridian into oncoming traffic.
