Mobile breast cancer screenings coming to Thorsby, Alta.

A mobile mammography trailer is coming to the community of Thorsby at the end of April at no cost to eligible Albertans.

Primary Care Alberta’s Screen Test program is designed to make X-rays to test for breast cancer more accessible in parts of the province where it may not be readily available.

The trailer will be at Thorsby Community Centre parking lot, located at 4813 49 St., from April 29 to 30.

Appointments are required and can be made at 1-800-667-0604.

Albertans between the ages of 45 and 74 are also able to discuss breast cancer risk and book a screening at specific radiology clinics or certain hospitals. A full list of available screening locations in the province can be found here.

Thorsby is about 77 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
