Residents of Castle Downs are shaken up after the community saw a Monday afternoon shooting that killed a man. “It’s scary,” said resident Romer Gamalo who briefly saw the incident. “I saw shattered window glass … and then a few minutes later, there’s a lot of cops coming … and they pull out a guy and there’s blood everywhere.” Edmonton police responded to a report of a shooting near 109 Street and 166 Avenue at 1:45 p.m. Monday where officers found an injured man. EMS transported the man to hospital where he died. “It’s a horrible thing,” said another resident who requested to remain anonymous. “We need to fix this issue and what’s going on in our community. This kind of heinous crime shouldn’t happen in Canada.” Police did not have any updates to the shooting as of Tuesday afternoon. Investigators are looking for drivers and homeowners who may have video footage related to the man’s death.
