It’s Adam Sandler night at the Riverhawks game tonight

The Edmonton Riverhawks hosted an Adam Sandler night in honour of the recent release of "Happy Gilmore 2."

The Edmonton Riverhawks are paying homage to the actor when they host the Nanaimo NightOwls Wednesday night, after last week’s release of Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix.

“It’s pretty culturally relevant right now,” Maddie Murdoch told CTV News Edmonton. “And we enjoy when fans come to the ballpark and kind of participate in our theme.

“We hope we get lots of fans dressed up.”

There will be contests themed to Sandler’s movies, including Happy Gilmore 2 and classics like The Waterboy and Billy Madison.

After the final out there will be a game of dodgeball in the outfield for fans 18+.

The baseball game starts at 7:05 p.m.
