Homicide unit investigating after man’s body found during welfare check

Police are investigating Edmonton’s first suspicious death of the year.

Officers were called to a home in the area of 88 Street and 128 Avenue at 9:30 a.m. on Friday for a welfare call.

When they arrived, they found the body of a 51-year-old man.

The investigation has since been turned over to the homicide unit.
