The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation unveiled its new Mighty Millions Lottery home in southwest Edmonton on Wednesday morning. The $2.4-million showhome, custom-built by Newground Developments, is a 4,900-square-foot bungalow with three bedrooms and five bathrooms in Cameron Heights. It is fully furnished, decorated and landscaped – featuring a covered deck outside, a large main floor office, and a billiards game space in the basement. It also includes a unique storage space. “There’s a hidden room for your Christmas tree, so you don’t have to take it down every season. You can just wheel it in, flick a switch on, and your tree is up,” Megan Wenger, with the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, told CTV News Edmonton. The Mighty Millions Lottery is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the hospital foundation, with money being raised to help sick kids and their families, and to build a future standalone Stollery. “When you buy a Mighty Millions lottery ticket, you’re helping us purchase specialized equipment today while also investing in cutting-edge research for tomorrow,” Wenger said. The lottery home is open for viewing to the public starting Thursday. A photo gallery and virtual tour are also available on the Mighty Millions Lottery website. The grand prize package includes the $2.4-million home and $100,000 cash. Hundreds of other prizes can also be won by purchasing a ticket, starting with an Edmonton Oilers VIP early-bird prize draw.
