Early morning line-up for new iPhone X

iPhone X sells out in Edmonton The iPhone X hit the shelves today, and it quickly sold out in Edmonton.

The Apple store at Southgate Mall is opening its doors at 8 a.m. Friday morning to begin selling the highly anticipated iPhone X.

Dozens of people spent the night camped out in front of the store, to guarantee their spot in line. People brought tents, sleeping bags, and lawn chairs to wait in line with.

Southgate Mall security told CTV News that some people have been waiting for the doors to open since 10 p.m. Thursday night.

Shoppers waited in line so long that in the early hours of the morning, staff at the Apple store provided fruit and water for the hungry customers.

As of 6 a.m. there were approximately 100 people in line.

Most people said they were waiting in line to buy the iPhone X, but some had already pre-ordered the device, and were waiting in line to pick it up once the store opened.

The new device includes features such as facial recognition, cordless charging, and a new and improved edge-to-edge screen. The price of the phone starts at just over $1,300.
