A man is facing charges after he was allegedly recorded driving nearly 100 km/h over the speed limit on an Alberta highway. Mounties were patrolling the highway on Aug. 20 when they spotted the vehicle, which was clocked at 190 km/h on Highway 2A outside Ponoka. Police were unsuccessful at stopping the vehicle, but it was located a short time later and two people inside were arrested. A 37-year-old man from Maskwacis, Alta., has been charged with: A 45-year-old Maskwacis resident was also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and operate a motor vehicle while impaired. Both suspects were taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with a court date of Sept. 12 in Ponoka.
