Voters in Edmonton returned eight incumbents to their school board seats and chose seven new ones to replace outgoing trustees in Monday’s municipal election. One trustee’s seat, that of Alene Mutala in the east-central Catholic Ward 75, was acclaimed. Nine trustees sit on the public school board, including chair Julie Kusiek, who won re-election as Ward F’s trustee. Seven sit on the Catholic board, which is chaired by Sandra Palazzo, who was re-elected Monday in Ward 72. Edmonton Catholic, Ward 71 Leah Fiorillo, who won with 57.61 per cent of the vote, beating out one other candidate (31 of 31 polls reporting). Edmonton Catholic, Ward 72 Sandra Palazzo, who was re-elected with 75.85 per cent of the vote, beating out one other candidate (28 of 28 polls reporting). Edmonton Catholic, Ward 73 Kara Pelech, who won with 51.09 per cent of the vote, beating out two other candidates (30 of 32 polls reporting). Edmonton Catholic, Ward 74 Debbie Engel, who was re-elected with 78.3 per cent of the vote, beating out one other candidate (28 of 30 polls reporting). Edmonton Catholic, Ward 76 Lisa Castell Turchansky, who was re-elected with 57.98 per cent of the vote, beating out one other candidate (42 of 44 polls reporting). Edmonton Catholic, Ward 77 Laura Thibert, who was re-elected with 74.08 per cent of the vote, beating out one other candidate (37 of 40 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward A Sherri O’Keefe, who was re-elected with 35.71 per cent of the vote, beating out three other candidates (31 of 31 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward B Linda Lindsay, who won with 69.66 per cent of the vote, beating out two other candidates (29 of 30 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward C Holly Nichol, who won with 83.99 per cent of the vote, beating out one other candidate (32 of 32 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward D Nickela Anderson, who won with 47.32 per cent of the vote, beating out three other candidates (32 of 36 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward E Sarah Doll, who won with 59.66 per cent of the vote, beating out three other candidates (24 of 26 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward F Julie Kusiek, who was re-elected with 65.03 per cent of the vote, beating out one other candidate (31 of 32 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward G Saadiq Sumar, who was re-elected with 44.06 per cent of the vote, beating out three other candidates (32 of 34 polls reporting). Edmonton Public, Ward H Melanie Hoffman, who won with 60.96 per cent of the vote, beating out four other candidates (21 of 23 polls reporting).
