From colourful parades and festive events, to exciting club nights and social mixers, Edmonton has a busy agenda for ways to celebrate pride as Pride Month kicks off this weekend. Although the annual Pride Festival is months away, Pride Edmonton is gearing up for its biggest year yet with more than 100 events planned across the region for what it’s calling the Summer of Pride. Edmonton Drag Festival Sir Winston Churchill Square will be transformed into a massive three-day celebration of drag, queer artistry and community in downtown Edmonton. This event returns for its fourth year this weekend from May 29 to May 31 and will feature over 120 local, national and international performers, along with drag superstars from RuPaul’s Drag Race. VIP passes and meet-and-greet tickets are available online. We’re Going to the Cottage: Pride Night The rivalries are heated and the Edmonton Riverhawks are reminding people that their ballpark is still for everyone. This event takes place at the Re/Max Field on June 13 and includes drag queen races, a Shane and Ilya look-a-like contest, and a giveaway to send a lucky fan on a trip to “the cottage!” Edmontonians can also take part in a 2026 Pride jersey auction that’s in support of Pride Tape and the Riverhawks Community Foundation. Tickets can be found on their website. Drag Me Out to the Ballgame The 5th annual Drag Me Out to the Ballgame and After Party will also take place at Re/Max Field this June 20. The event includes a family-friendly game at 12 p.m. and a 18+ after party from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. featuring drag performances, music and community. Proceeds will support HIV Edmonton and the Sexual Assault Centre of Edmonton. Tickets for the ballgame and after party are online. Buck Pop Pride Takeover Edmonton’s adult community can check out one of many club events including this one at The Buckingham on Whyte Avenue. The doors open at 7:30 p.m. on June 12 and features performances from DJ Miami Tammy, special guest drag pop-ups, and dancing. More information can be found on Buck Pop’s Instagram. Edmonton Pride Festival Edmonton PrideFest Association will host their popular, free family-friendly event in August. The festival will once again feature “The Rainbow Road,” a market for LGBTQ2S+ artisans and organizations that support services and advocacy to the community.
