The Edmonton Police Service says no charges were laid after a second soccer brawl in Edmonton last week. Police were called to the Bill Gilhespy Soccer Complex at 149 Avenue and 142 Street at 8:22 p.m. on Thursday. “It was reported to police that two adult sports teams were engaged in an altercation. The altercation de-escalated upon police arrival. Thankfully, no injuries were recorded, and EMS was not required. No charges were laid,” an EPS spokesperson wrote in an email to CTV News Edmonton. On Aug. 12 a fight involving two soccer teams was captured on camera at a field at Queen Elizabeth School. EPS says it was not contacted about that incident.
