A 73-year-old woman has been killed in a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Highway 10. RCMP say it happened Friday around 7:10 p.m. about nine kilometres northeast of Melville The woman was declared dead at the scene. She’s been identified as someone from the Melville area and her family has been notified. The driver remained on-scene where he and a passenger were assessed by EMS. However, RCMP did not disclose what if any injuries they might have suffered. The incident is under investigation by Melville RCMP and an RCMP collision reconstructionist. As of 8:45 a.m., Oct. 5, Mounties state there have been 72 fatal collisions with 87 fatalities on roads policed by Saskatchewan RCMP in 2026.
