Edmonton Police Service (EPS) has arrested three people after a stabbing near West Edmonton Mall that left two men in a hospital last week. Police responded to reports of a robbery and stabbing at a transit station around 90 Avenue and 175 Street early Wednesday morning, police said in a news release. The accused approached two men waiting at the station and demanded their cellphones. When the two men refused, one of the suspects stabbed them both and stole their phones, EPS said. All three suspects, two men and one woman, fled on bicycles. Both men, aged 24 and 45, were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said. The three suspects were arrested within 24 hours along Stony Plain Road. “This was an outstanding multi-branch response and a strong example of the great work our officers and partners do on the ground every day to make transit, and our city, safer,” said EPS Det. Aaron Suave. All three have been charged with robbery and aggravated assault.
