2 charged, multiple arrested after string of break ins, motorbike thefts northeast of Edmonton

RCMP say they have charged two men in connection with a series of break ins and thefts in Fort Saskatchewan.

In the early hours of June 4, RCMP received a report of a break and enter at Conlon Motorsports in Fort Saskatchewan.

Four people used a quad to ram an access gate to the compound. They stole three motorbikes which were recovered by police a few hours later.

An RCMP vehicle was rammed and damaged during the response.

Police found multiple individuals who were involved in a series of break and enters in the area including one at Gibbons Motor Toys on June 3 where several ATV’s were stolen.

Fort Saskatchewan, Morinville, and Central Alberta Crime Reduction Units and General Investigations Sections supported by the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team arrested multiple individuals and executed a search warrant at a property on Sturgeon Valley Road in Sturgeon County on June 5.

Police recovered two stolen ATVs, one out of Athabasca that was reported stolen in December. Mounties also seized a firearm and ammunition.

A 30-year-old man was charged with one count of breaking and entering.

A 29-year-old man was charged with breaking and entering, flight from a police officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, public mischief, unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number.

Both men were remanded into custody and will appear in Alberta court at an undetermined date.
