Toronto man arrested in Timothy Bosma case

Timothy Bosma, 32, was found dead after taking two men for a test drive in his black Dodge Ram pickup Bosma had posted for sale online.

One of two suspects wanted in connection with the case of a missing Hamilton, Ont.-area man has been arrested as police enter the ‘critical hours’ in the investigation.

Hamilton police announced Saturday that an arrest was made in connection with the disappearance of Ancaster, Ont. resident Timothy Bosma.

Bosma was reported missing Monday after taking two men on a test drive of his truck that he’d listed for sale online.

Supt. Dan Kinsella told reporters on Saturday that the suspect was arrested in Mississauga, Ont. Police tracked down the suspect based on information that was sent in to them.

Investigators are continuing their search for Bosma, as well as the second suspect.

As police focus their search efforts in the area near Brantford, Ont., Kinsella said investigators are preparing search warrants, and gathering information and evidence.

He declined to comment on whether Bosma’s truck had been located, and said the case has been changing “minute by minute.”

“Tim Bosma has not been located and our greatest priority is the welfare and locating of Tim Bosma. Anyone who knows where Tim is, please help return Tim to us. For those responsible, turn yourself in,” he said.

Toronto resident Dellen Millard, 27, was arrested without incident, while driving on Cawthra Road west of Toronto, police said.

He has the word “Ambition” tattooed inside a box on his wrist, matching a description previously given of one of the suspects, Kinsella said.

Millard is charged with forcible confinement and theft over $5,000.

Police recover cellphone

On Friday, police announced they had found Bosma’s phone in an industrial area in west Brantford, the night before.

They also reported that Bosma’s vehicle had been spotted in downtown Brantford on Monday night. They asked that any surveillance video from businesses in the area be turned in to help locate the truck. Bosma’s missing pickup is described as a 2007 black Dodge Ram 3500.

Through phone records, police said they discovered the same two men who test drove Bosma’s truck approached a man in Etobicoke, Ont., last Sunday to test drive a similar vehicle.

The owner of that truck went for a test drive with the two men and returned without incident, police said.

Police said that phone records revealed that one of the suspect’s had obtained a cellphone under a fake name three months ago, with most calls made in Toronto’s west end. That phone has not been used since Bosma’s disappearance.

The second suspect is described as white with a medium build. He is roughly five-foot-nine inches tall, with dark hair. He was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head.

Last week, Bosma’s wife Sharlene pleaded for her husband’s safe return.

“I beg whoever has my husband to let him go, please call the police anonymously and let them know where he is,” she said at the press conference Wednesday. “It’s just a truck. You don’t need him, but I do and our daughter needs her daddy back so please, please let him come home.”
