The Penticton Vees battened down the hatches and beat the Brooks Bandits 3-2 Friday in Game 5 of their BCHL playoff series. The win cut the Bandits’ series lead to 3-2, with Game 6 scheduled for Monday night in Brooks. Parker Lalonde cashed in his own rebound to give the Bandits a 1-0 lead after the first period. In the second, Louie Wehmann scored four minutes in to tie it at a goal apiece, and then with less than four minutes remaining, Max Heise scored on a breakaway to put Penticton in front 2-1. In the third, Simon Meier made it 3-1 early in the period. Mathis Dufour scored on a power play to cut the margin to 3-2 but that was as close as they would get.
