Two rare vintage cars are on display at the Rogers Charity Classic, with proceeds from their sale set to support local charities. Trellis Society is showcasing two mid-century automotive icons near the ninth hole at Canyon Meadows Golf and Country Club. The vehicles - a 1956 Austin-Healey 100M roadster and a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing coupe - will be auctioned for charity this fall. The cars were donated by Calgary philanthropist and longtime supporter of the Rogers Charity Classic, Gary Peddle. They are expected to fetch more than $3.4 million. Proceeds will support programs at Trellis Society and the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation. “These funds will go into affordable housing to make sure we open doors for people in our community, as well as mental health supports, which is where the bridge goes to the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation,” said Trellis Society CEO Jeff Dyer. Dyer says displaying the vehicles at the PGA Tour Champions event is helping build momentum ahead of the auction, set for October.
