Police have charged two men who allegedly assaulted a Calgary Transit bus driver on Wednesday, sending him to hospital. At 1:12 a.m., a Calgary Transit driver was attacked by two people near Falconridge Boulevard and Castleridge Boulevard N.E., police said. Officials say the pair became violent after the victim refused their request to deviate from his route. Police said there was one passenger on the bus at the time who attempted to stop the attack. They were not seriously hurt. The suspects fled the scene after the assault. The driver was taken to hospital in critical condition but has since been upgraded to stable condition. Police reviewed CCTV footage and developed a physical description of the suspects. Officers then saw two men matching the suspect description in the Falconridge area around 8 a.m. and arrested them. Darryl Flett, 22, is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of robbery and one count of failing to comply with a court order. Curtis Baker Spence, 20, is charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of robbery and four counts of failing to comply with a court order.
