A Calgary woman is expressing her gratitude after a random act of kindness that brightened an otherwise grim day. Brigitte Pleša says she has been spending most of her free time at the Rockyview General Hospital lately due to her father’s ailing health. The visits have been tough, but a surprise left at her vehicle on Heritage Day helped cheer her up. “I was returning to my vehicle in the parkade with my son following a particularly stressful visit and found a lovely note and flowers left for me,” Pleša said. The flowers were bright yellow. The note, written on matching yellow paper, said “flowers full of love.” Pleša said most of the other vehicles parked in the same area also had flowers left on them. The kindness of the gesture brought her to tears and turned around her entire day. “What a wonderful, thoughtful act of kindness,” Pleša said. “I was truly touched. What a beautiful gesture. “I am reminded that I live in the most beautiful city where people care for one another. How lucky am I?” Instead of taking the flowers and the note with her, Pleša paid it forward by place them on another vehicle for someone else to discover. She expressed immense gratitude to whomever it was that left them. “You are a star, a bright light — and I’d like to say thank you.” She also voiced her appreciation for the hospital staff. “There are no other words — they are awesome!”
