Conditions continue to improve in Kananaskis Country following last weeks’ significant rainfall. Alberta’s transportation minister says temporary fixes are complete on the Evan Thomas Bridge on Highway 40, with both lanes open to traffic. Mudslides have also been cleared enough to reopen most of Spray Lakes Road, although it remains closed near Grassi Lakes due to ongoing slopes stability issues. It’s not just roads that were damaged by flooding and high water. Alberta Parks crews are also conducting detailed assessments of trails, campgrounds, and day-use areas.
