Suspect sought in July arson in southeast Calgary

Calgary police are seeking help to identify a suspect wanted in connection with a vehicle fire earlier this year.

At just before midnight on July 25, police responded to a burning vehicle near 68 Street and 51 Avenue S.E.

After the fire was extinguished by the CFD, the arson unit was called in.

Officials say the vehicle, a 2017 Dodge Ram, was intentionally set on fire using an accelerant.

Police have released images of a suspect spotted near the scene and are seeking help from the public to identify him.

He is described as 40 to 60 years old, clean shaven with a medium build.

He was wearing a blue jacket, a dark-coloured shirt and a black-and-white checkerboard baseball cap.
